Biography

Alberto Sughi was born in 1928 in Cesena and died in 2012 in Bologna. During his long artistic life, Maestro Sughi, who began drawing and painting at the age of fifteen, took part in all the most important contemporary art exhibitions, from the Venice International Art Biennial to the Rome Quadrennial and the most important exhibitions that have taken the events of Italian art from the 1970s to the present day abroad. Italian and foreign museums have dedicated extensive anthological exhibitions to him; These include the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Bologna (1977), the Galleria del Maneggio in Moscow (1978), the Castel Sant'Angelo Museum in Rome, the Fine Arts Museum in Budapest, the National Gallery in Prague (1986), the Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna in Ferrara (1988), the Casa Masaccio in San Giovanni Valdarno (1990), the Museo d'Arte Assis Chateaubriand in São Paulo, Brazil (1994) and the Museo Civico di San Sepolcro (2003).
