Domenico Grenci's painting projects us towards the urgency of an intimate dialogue, which probes the sense of incompleteness of the existential condition in relation to the origin of all things: nature in relation to the human. In recent years, alongside his more consolidated research on the face, other presences emerge, natural elements such as flowers and plants but also objects and visions that trigger a profound dialogue giving us back a residual pluralism, shadows or existences that scrutinize that loneliness that emerges every day from a network of immaterial and changing images of the world.

"Grenci's is both a declaration of continuity on the one hand and an essay of modern contamination on the other. The use of bitumen, for example, with its thick response, seems to contradict this search for expressive fluidity. Quite the opposite. The only apparently heavy imprint of bitumen adds depth and poignancy to the work, giving it a sort of further permanence after the first glance, dominated by the dilevations of the use of watercolour acrylic. Grenci combines different suggestions with wisdom and lightness: between face and matter, between revealed beauty and its origin, between matter and its transfiguration, in a contradiction of thrusts and motives, of references, quotations, allusions." Beatrice Buscaroli (Domenico Grenci Elevatio Animae, Comune di Cesena, 2010)
